William Cutter, son of Richard Cutter 1621 – 1693 of Newcastle Upon Tyne, Northumberland, England which lies on the border of Scotland and Elizabeth Williams 1627 – 1662 of Norwich, Norfolk, England. William was born 22 Feb 1649 in Cambridge, Middlesex, Massachusetts [Mitchell mentions his baptism in the church of that place, but gives no date. He married Rebecca Rolfe, whose father, John Rolfe, of Cambridge, originally from Newbury, came hither about 1670, from Nantucket Island. They married on 4 Dec 1679.
Together William and Rebecca Cutter had nine children that survived:

1. Elizabeth born 5 Mar 1680, married 12 Apr 1705 John Harrington Jr of Watertown and lived in Lexington. She died 8 Feb 1749.

2. Richard born 13 Nov 1682, married 20 Aug 1706, Mary Pike, daughter of John Pike, one of the first settlers of Woodbridge. New Jersey where Richard died 17 Dec 1756.

3. Mary born 26 Jan 1684, died 6 Apr 1685.

4. Hannah born 20 May 1688, married 17 June 1708, Ephraim Winship of Lexington. She died 9 Apr 1764.

5. John born 15 Oct 1690 in Cambridge, baptized at Cambridge, Sept. 15, 1700, married Lydia, daughter of John and Hannah (Winter) Harrington, of Waltham, baptized Mar. 2, 1689-90. "September 9, 1739, John and wife were founders of the church in the Second Precinct of Cambridge, now Arlington; signing and acknowledging the covenant drawn up by Rev. Samuel Cooke, the first pastor. 17 Nov 1739 he was unanimously chosen a deacon.

6. Rebecca born 18 Jan 1692, married 18 Jan 1710/11
Lieutenant John Adams of Menotomy.

7. William born 1697, died at Menotomy 16 Nov 1756.

8. Samuel born 14 Jun 1700, married Anne Harrington, daughter of John Harrington. She died 27 Sep 1737.

9. Sarah, baptized 18 Oct 1702, married Ebenezer Cutter.

10. Ammiruhamah, baptized at Cambridge 6 May 1705. Graduate of Harvard College and became the first settled minister of North Yarmouth, Maine in 1729.

Rebecca Rolfe, widow of William Cutter, married 2nd on 3 Jun 1724, John Whitmore Sr, Deacon and prominent citizen of Medford. She gave six pounds towards the fund for "communion utensils" for the Menotomy Church in 1739. She died 23 Nov 1751, aged 90. Her husband, Deacon Whitmore, died 22 Feb 1739/40, aged 84.
