Robert D. Nelson, youngest son of the late William Nelson, died at his residence in New York city, on Tuesday, February 20, of a lingering illness occasioned by a malignant tumor, the pain of which he bore with unmurmuring fortitude, after submitting to several surgical operations in vain efforts to remove the tumor.

Until within the past few years he was a resident of Peekskill, his native place, and was at one time president of the village.

At the time of his death he was a member of the New York Produce Exhange.

Mr. Nelson left a widow, daughter of the late Aaron Travis, of this village, but no children.

The funeral services were held yesterday, the 22d, at his late residence, in New York, and were conducted by the Rev. Irving White, of the Second Presbyterian Church this village, and the remains; were brought to Peekskill on the one o'clock train, and placed in the cemetery vault at Van Cortlandtville.

Deceased was in his forty-ninth year at the time of his death.
