Son of Andrew Whisennand and Susanah Whisennand buried this cemetery; was nine of twelve children--Walker Newspaper: A young man named David Whisennand of Newton township, shot himself through the lung while out hunting with another young man by the name of Watson (his nephew). He was crawling near some birds, pulling his gun by the muzzle having it cocked at the time the load discharged. His partner asked him if he was hurt. He said no. Then when he attempted to rise he fell on his knees, saying "run for the doctor". Before the doctor arrived he was dead. He only lived forty-five minutes. He was a respectiable young man, about 23 years of age. The funeral was a large one.
