Services for Rev. Bobby Gene Harris, age 62, of Alba, Texas were scheduled for 2 p.m. Tuesday, in the Lindale First Baptist Church MMC with Rev. George Decker and Bobby Thornton officiating. Interment followed in the Harris Chapel Cemetery under the direction of Caudle-Rutledge Funeral Directors in Lindale. Rev. Harris died Sunday morning at his residence. He was born April 17, 1939 in Marlo, Oklahoma and was formerly of Edom before moving to Alba 4 years ago. Rev. Harris was employed by Central Freight Lines in Tyler and pastored the Omen Baptist Church in Arp where he was a member. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alvin and Molly Arms Harris; a brother, James Harris; a sister, Juanita Smiley and by a grandson, Bry Harris.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Rinda Harris of Alba; two sons, Curtis Harris of Ben Wheeler and Derral Harris of Van; four daughers, Vanessa Day of Lindale, Mickie Gable of Ben Wheeler, Cheryl Bland and Shanna Ross, both of Edom; three brothers, Dalton Harris of Muleshoe, Dean Harris of Lubbock and Melvin Harris of Clifton; three sisters, Dorothy Self of Springtown, Bonnie Barnard of Marlo, Oklahoma and Trell Taylor of Friona; 17 grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.

His nephews served as pallbearers. Honorable Pallbearers were James Reynolds, Chuck Howell, Fenley Tucker, Chuck Reynolds, and Robert Reynolds.
