Bro. Darvin Dean Harris 85, of Round Rock since 2011, known to his family and friends as "Popa" was born January 16, 1931 in Plainview, Texas and resided in Texas and Oklahoma during his adolescent years. Bro. Dean graduated high school from Springlake/Earth High School. Bro. Dean served in the US Army from February 1, 1951 to January 2, 1953. During his tour of service he was awarded the Army OCC medal for his service in Germany. Bro. Dean married Eva Louise Burch, January 25, 1953 at Hopewell Baptist Church in Olton, Texas. Bro. Dean later earned his associate degree from Jacksonville Baptist College in Jacksonville Texas. Bro. Dean served in several churches in many different positions from Pastor, Associate pastor and class teacher. He retired in 1991 from the City of Lubbock Health Department after 25 years of dedicated service.

Bro. Dean is preceded in death by his beloved wife of 50 years, Louise Harris in 2003 and his daughter Sharon Louise in 1954. He is survived by his children: Beth Williams and husband Larry of Hurst, Sue Harvey and husband Keith of Lubbock, Darlia Fogarty and husband Michael of Round Rock and Paulia Treadwell and husband Michael of Lubbock; his grandchildren: Allison Williams, Tammy and Matt Wolske, Traci and Cody Sparks, Terry and Crystal Sanders, Chance and Dawn Williams, Larrisa and Jeff Yates, Brandon and Elizabeth Williams, Niki and Wes Graves, and Amber and Ethan Johnston; his great grandchildren: Ariana and Zach Morgan, Tyler and Kimie Saucedo, Presley Williams, Breanna Sanders, Anna Yates, Bryce Sanders, Dontein Williams, Zayleigh Sparks, Jackson Graves, Zaylissa Sparks, Joseph Sanders, Mylah Sanders, Fisher Graves, Aspen Williams and Evarley Yates; his great great grandchildren: Aiden and Aarabell Saucedo.

Memorial service for Bro. Dean will be held at 1:00 PM Wednesday July 20, 2016 at Weed-Corley-Fish Funeral home 1200 S. Bagdad Road, Leander, TX. Bro. Dean passed from this life into his heavenly home peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Sunday July 17, 2016.
