For a short time Oscar & Clara lived in Hill River township and he then took a homestead near Gully, but later moved back to Hill River and operated a general store for 27 years near the Hill River Creamery. After retiring for three years on a farm in Hill River and in 1944 he purchased one of the Torblaa farms in Brandsvold township where he lived for 10 years. 1954 they moved to Fosston, MN where they built a new home.
