Mrs. Mings, formerly of Columbus, died at 2:30 a.m. Saturday at a medical center at Middle, GA. after being in failing health some time.
She was born Oct. 21, 1903 in Ashe County, N.C. the daughter of Roby and Cora Osborne Sluder. She was married to Tyler Mings in 1920, and he died Mar. 13, 1963. She was a member of the Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, William Mings of 2835 Rosewood and Walter Mings of 6866 W. Road 550S;four daughters, Elizabeth Cave of Campbellsville, KY, Naomi Mitchell of 1010 S. Road 100W, Virginia Brown of Columbus, and Barbara Green, with whom she made her home; two brothers, William Sluder of Hammersville, Ohio, and Roy Sluder of 16th Street; two sisters, Lula Meranda of Hammmersville and Iva Black of Quail Run Apartments, 17 grandchildren and 24 great-grandchildren.
