OBITUARY - EASTIN
James Harvey Eastin, son of Dotson and Cynthia Eastin, was born January 13, 1869 near Pleasanton, Iowa and grew to manhood at that place.
He departed this life at his home 8 miles north of Cainsville, Harrison County, Missouri December 15, 1938, being at the time of his death 69 years, 11 months, and 2 days.
He was united in marriage to Miss Ella Seymour on January 12, 1890. To this union ten children were born: Floyd of Garden Grove, Iowa; Roy of Garden Grove, Iowa; Virgil, who preceded him in death; Mrs. B. M. O"Bryan of Wood, South Dakota; Mrs. F. M. Chapman of Cainsville, Missouri; Lawrence of Conesville, Iowa; Chalmers of Eagleville, Missouri; Jess of Blythedale, Missouri; Mollie, an infant daughter who preceded him in death; and Fred of Eagleville, Missouri.
"Harve", as he was commonly called, spent most of his life near the place where he was born during his life has made by his way of living many warm friends.
A few years ago he had a stroke of paralysis from which he never entirely recovered, but able to be about his work, and as he was looking after his chores on December 15th, the Lord said, "Your Earthly Mission is Finished", and he passed from this toil of life leaving his loving companion, 8 children , 26 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, 2 sisters, Mrs. Nan McCall of Blythedale, Missouri, Mrs. Sara Wakefield of Vernon, Colorado; 3 brothers; John of Wray, Colorado; Steve, of Mercer, Missouri, and Elza of Colorado Springs, Colorado to mourn his departure.
Certainly it can be said, he was a loving companion, a king and loving father, and a good neighbor and will be sadly missed in the home and community.
