Mrs. Higdon was a supervisor at the former Noma Lites in St Joseph until it was closed. Born in Maysville, Mo., on Feb. 3, 1919, she lived most of her life in St Joseph. Mrs. Higdon was a member of King Hill United Methodist Church and Radiant Chapter No. 88, Order of the Eastern Star, both of St Joseph.
On May 16, 1936, she married Forest Higdon in Troy, Kan. He survives of the home. Additional survivors include a son, Galen Higdon of Bolckow, Mo.; a half-brother, Herman Steiner of St Joseph; three grandchildren, four step-grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Higdon was preceded in death by her parents, Spencer and Stella Thomas; a brother, Gist Thomas; and three sisters, Irene Louis, Twila Norris and Erma Kelly.
