Born near Clarksdale, Mo., on Sept. 2, 1921, Mrs. Norris moved to St Joseph in 1935. She was a homemaker and a member of the Christian faith.
In 1937, she married Raymond L. Norris. He died in 1996. Mrs. Norris was also preceded in death by an infant son; her parents, Spencer and Alma Thomas; a brother, Gist Thomas; a sister, Irene Beers; and a grandchild.
Surviving are two daughters, Sally Stapleton of Crowley, Texas, and Jerri White of Weatherford, Texas; a brother, Herman Steiner of St Joseph; two sisters, Illa Higdon and Erma Kelly, both of St Joseph; nine grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
Graveside service and burial will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the Odd Fellows Public Cemetery, St Joseph." St Joseph News-Press, June 25, 1998
