HERMAN WALLACE

A retired employee of the Louisiana Department of Hospitals and a part-time employee of John's Curb Market, he died at 11 p.m. Thursday, July 2, 1998, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. He was 70, a resident of Denham Springs and a native of Baton Rouge. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. Visiting at Rabenhorst Funeral Home East, 11000 Florida Blvd., 4 p.m. to 9 p.m. Saturday and after 8 a.m. Sunday. Religious services at the funeral home chapel at 3 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Tony Blanchard.
Survived by wife of 41 years, Viola Jordan Dier, Denham Springs; a sister and brother-in-law, Jackie and Robert Sanchez, Denham Springs; and three brothers and two sisters-in-law, Rodney "Jimmy" and Marlene Dier, Ozark, Mo., Joe Dier, Denham Springs, and Earl and Mary Dier, Baker. Preceded in death by a son, Broderick "Buddy" Dier; parents, Elisha and Erma W. Dier; a sister, Laverne Dier Barbari. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, family requests memorial contributions to Calvary Baptist Church, 9270 Cockerham Road, Denham Springs, 70726.
