Earl Davis Dier, 67 years old, went to be with his Lord and Savior on November 25, 2016, at his residence in Baker, LA. He was born in McComb, Mississippi, October 7, 1940, but moved to Baton Rouge and eventually found his home in Baker where he has lived with his wife for 50 years. Earl was a retired Baton Rouge Fire Department District Chief and served in the United States Coast Guard. He was a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend to many.

Earl is survived by his wife, Mary K. Dier; son, Darren Dier and his wife, Deanna; 3 grandsons, Dustin, Keith & Austin; 4 great-grandchildren, Savannah, Landon, Jackson and McKenzie; brother, Jimmy Dier; and sister-in-law, Barbara Rushing.

Earl is preceded in death by his parents, Elisha and Erma Whittington Dier; and many brothers and sisters.

Pallbearers will be Terry Dier, Joey Dier, Dustin Dier, Austin Dier, Jefferey ''J.J.'' Helmke and Brian Keith Hano, Jr.

Relatives and friends are invited to join the family for the visitation at Baker Funeral Home, 6401 Groom Road, Baker, LA, on Wednesday, November 30, 2016, from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Visiting will continue at Baker Funeral Home, on Thursday, December 1, 2016, from 9:00 a.m. until the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Reverend Samuel Alsanders will officiate the services. The graveside service and burial will follow in Greenoaks Memorial Park, Baton Rouge.
