BAPTISM: Congregational Church Records. Canterbury, CT, 1711-1844. Daniel was baptized, here, then no more record of him in the Canterbury church records.
Daniel was born and raised in Canterbury, Windham Co, Conn. He married first, Hannah Partridge, on Nov 16, 1730 in Canterbury, Windham Co, CT. She bore him five children from 1731-1739: Daniel II, Hannah, Ebenezer, Deborah, and Phebe. She died Jul 12, 1742, age 30.
He married, second, Hannah Lyman, Nov 16, 1743. She had three children with him: Samuel, Asa, Sarah. Her place and date of death and burial are unknown to this biographer. All of his children were born in Connecticut.
REAL ESTATE:
1) His dad apparently set him up with a farm. (either sold or gave it to him), Benjamin Baldwin sold to Daniel Baldwin. Canterbury Deed Records Vol 3-373, dtd 02-19-1727/28. He would have been 22 at the time.
2) Daniel sold a property a few months after this. Hannah Baldwin signed this deed. It is dated 12/27/1727. (If this is old style dating, he is selling after he got the farm from his dad. This might be when he moved to Mansfield.
At some point, Daniel removed to Dover, Vermont - possibly with his son, Daniel I and Grandson Elijah. He is reported to be buried in the Baldwin Private Cemetery in Dover, VT.
