Corinne Neal "Granny" Brown, 101, of Elk Point passed away on Saturday, August 28, 2010, at the Prairie Estates Care Center in Elk Point, SD.
Corinne was born on December 28, 1908 in Alexandria, LA to Thomas and Corinne (Metoyer) Neal. She attended and graduated from St. James High School in Alexandria, and married Ramsey Martin on August 17, 1927, until he passed away in 1938. She later met Walter Brown and they married on October 23, 1942.

For a few years, Corinne traveled with her husband, Ramsey, who was a musician, and she also taught piano lessons.

Corinne moved to the Elk Point community with her daughter Corinne and son-in-law Sidney where they established the veterinary clinic. She was a long-time member of the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk Point, and was very involved in the church activities. Corinne loved her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. She also enjoyed flowers and spending time in her garden.

Corinne is survived by her daughter Dr. Corinne Milburn of Elk Point, SD; grandson Sidney (Patti) Milburn of Honolulu, HI; great-grandson Kyle Johnson of Portland, OR; and nieces, nephews and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents Thomas and Corinne (Metoyer) Neal; husbands Ramsey Martin and Walter Brown; granddaughter Deborah Milburn; sisters Amelia Esnault and Thelma Agullard; brother Herman Neal; and son-in-law Dr. Sidney Milburn.

The funeral service is on Saturday, September 4, 2010 at 10:00am at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Elk Point with Fr. David Roehrich and Fr. John Rasmussen officiating.

Burial: St. Joseph's Catholic cemetery in Elk Point following the funeral service on Saturday, September 4, 2010.
