RUTH E. ADAMS, 90, of Avon, Ind., formerly of Fort Wayne, passed away Wednesday, Sept., 1, 2010, at Avon Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born Oct. 29, 1919 in Fort Wayne. She was one of eleven children and graduated in 1938 from North Side High School. She loved to sew. She worked at Rankin's Dime Store and Stillman's at Southgate in the fabric dept. She was a longtime member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and attended Christ United Methodist Church. Surviving are her daughter, Linda L. (Woody) Smith, of Avon; sons, Paul E. (Peg) Adams, of Greenfield; and Greg A. (Deb) Adams, of Ossian; 11 grandchildren; and 21 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Floyd in 2000; son, William; and daughter, Sharon Adams. Funeral service is 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 4, 2010 at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton, Winchester Road Chapel, 6424 Winchester Road. Visitation from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday Sept. 3, 2010 at the funeral home.
