Robert Gill Farrish passed away peacefully at home on September 2, 2010, at the age of 81. Robert was born on October 2, 1928, in Greenwood, MS. He was the last surviving child of 8 children, of Willie and Alice Farrish. He was a loving father, dedicated husband and grandfather. After serving in the United States Navy during Korean War, Robert spent his work life as a young man at Staple Cotton in Greenwood, MS, and all his professional life as a cotton broker in Memphis on Front Street. He was a long time member of Kirby Woods Baptist Church, and Olive Branch First Baptist Church. Robert is survived by his wife of 58 years, Joyce Farrish, two children; Pam Leet (Rick), Mike Farrish (Angie), six grandchildren; Dominic Cianciolo, Paige Hudson (Tim), Kyle Clemmons (Justin), Nicole Leet, Justin Farrish, and Christopher Farrish. Robert also had two greatgrandchildren, Hunter and Sam Hudson. He was a generous and loving man who touched the lives of many, and will be greatly missed by all. The family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until the service begins at 3 p.m. Sunday, September 5 at Memphis Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, Poplar Ave, with the entombment to follow in Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family requests that memorials be sent to Crossroads Hospice, The Make A Wish Foundation of the Midsouth, or the organization of your choosing.
