"John Peyton Anthony, sixty-five years old, died late yesterday at his home, 524 East Missouri avenue. He had lived in St Joseph the past thirty-six years, being engaged in the transfer business. He was a member of the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church and was a past noble grand of Georgetown Lodge No. 627, I.O.O.F.

Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Addie Anthony of the home; one son, John Anthony of New Orleans, La.; three daughters, Mrs. Lenore Cook of Chicago, Ill., and Mrs. Faye Sherman and Mrs. Zola Darnell, both of St Joseph; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Sherman is the wife of Police Judge, Joseph A. Sherman.

The body is at Clark's mortuary and will be taken to the home this afternoon." St Joseph Gazette, November 20, 1936
