She was the widow of John P. Anthony, who operated the Anthony Transfer Company here for over 30 years. She was also the mother of Mrs. Joseph Sherman, widow of the late prosecuting attorney Sherman. Mrs. Anthony, who was born in Sedalia, Mo., had been in ill health a number of years. She made her home in St Joseph at 524 East Missouri avenue and was well known for her good deeds in that neighborhood. Mrs. Anthony was a charter member of the Hyde Park Presbyterian Church.

In addition to Mrs. Darnell and Mrs. Sherman, she is survived by another daughter, Mrs. Robert L. Cook of Atlanta, Ga.; one son, John Anthony of Opelousas, La.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

The body has been removed from the Clark Mortuary and taken to the home of Mrs. Sherman, 601 East Missouri avenue." St Joseph News-Press, August 1, 1947
