She came to Nebraska with her parents when a child, and settled on a homestead twelve miles east of Palmer, where she grew to womanhood. She, with her parents, endured many of the hardships of the early settlers.
At the age of eighteen she was united in marriage to Allen W. Gee of Central City, Nebr. To this union were born ten children: Mrs. L. V. Peterson of Winner, South Dakota, Mrs. Furnam Carson of Palmer, Mrs. Dolph Whitlow of Yakima, Washington, Alfred Gee of Palmer, Ralph Gee of Genoa, Nebr., Mrs. Wm. Eggers of Prescott, Wisconsin, Mrs. Joe Lytle of Wanamaker, South Dakota, Wyvil Gee of Omaha, and Melvin and Lucille Gee of Palmer.
At the age of thirty she united with the Christian Church at Palmer, in which organization she was a faithful worker for many years. After the family moved to the Oakdale neighborhood, she was a regular attendant and loyal worker in the Sunday school until she became so afflicted that she was unable to attend.
Her last illness was long and painful, but she was a very patient sufferer.
She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, ten children, nine grandchildren, two sisters and five brothers, besides many other relatives and a host of friends. Her father and mother and one sister preceded her in death.
The funeral was held from the Christian Church Saturday afternoon, H. H. Utterback of Omaha, officiating, and speaking very eloquently of the good works, and the unselfish devotion of the deceased to her family, to the church and to her friends and neighbors.
The sympathy of the entire community goes out to the bereaved relatives in their time of sorrow.
