SERVICES MONDAY FOR GEORGE WILLIAMS
Services for George Wolf Williams, 73, of Childress were conducted yesterday afternoon from Newberry Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Price of the First United Methodist Church and Rev. Joe S. Allen of the First Baptist Church officiating. Burial was in Childress Cemetery.
Mr. Williams died Saturday afternoon in Childress General Hospital.
He was born Feb. 19, 1904, in Childress, the son of Mr. and Mrs. B. T. Williams. The parents were pioneers in the county, having settled here in 1886.
Mr. Williams was married to Billie Griffith on Jan. 3, 1831, in Hollis, Okla. He was a retired farmer, veteran of World War II, a member of B.P.O.E. 1113, American Legion Post 65 and the Forty-and-eight club.
Survivors include his widow of Childress; two sisters, Mrs. Bessie Cain of Miles City, Mont., Mrs. Daisy Hollingsworth of Childress; a brother Wilbur of Childress; and several nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers were Dick Preston, Buddy Wilcoxson, Watt Foard, Troy Boykin, Reuben Arnold and Leroy Gaines.
