Services Are Conducted for Daisy Hollingsworth
Services for Daisy Hollingsworth, 86, were conducted at 10:30 a.m. today in First United Methodist Church with Rev. James Price, pastor of the First United Methodist Church of Idalou, officiating, and R.H. Knight, retired Methodist pastor assisting.
Burial was in Childress Cemetery under direction of Schooler-Gordon Funeral Directors.
Mrs. Hollingsworth died Saturday in Childress General Hospital.
She was born Feb. 4, 1896 in Childress County and married Lee Hollingsworth Dec. 30, 1915 in Childress. He preceded her in death Oct. 23, 1963.
She was a member of the Woman's Department Club and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
She was a long-time supporter of the Childress Chapter of the American Red Cross and of the Childress High School Band.
Survivors include one daughter, Mrs. Rush H. Record of Houston; one brother, Wilbur Williams of Childress; one sister-in-law, Mrs. George Williams of Childress; four grandchildren and on great-grandchild.
Pallbearers for the service were Wilbur Don Williams, Jim Record, Henry Neighbors, Rush Record, John Forbis and Reeves Gunting.
Honorary pallbearers were Bill Ross, Gene Smith, Cecil Pryor, Fred Sherwood, Frank Barksdale and Cecil Carrick.
