Funeral services for Mary Boyd Hawkins Ross, 85, of Badin Road, Albemarle, were held November 2 at Hartsell Funeral Home, Rev. Ben Wilson and Rev. Kenneth Lambert presiding. Burial was in Stanly Gardens of Memory.
Mrs. Ross died on October 30, 2001 at Stanly Memorial Hospital. She was born on September 4, 1916 in Stanly County, daughter of Minnie Carpenter and Plummer Oscar Hawkins. She was married to the late Lee "Buck" Ross. Her step-father was F.A. Wentz.
She graduated from Norwood High School in 1935 and attended Queens College. She enjoyed bridge, was a member of Central United Methodist, and was a retired sewer at Wiscassett Mill.
Survivors include a son, Michael Lee Ross of Albemarle; grandchildren, David Michael Ross of Albemarle and Leanne Ross of Raleigh; and several nieces and nephews.
