Miss Nola Byrne of Monterey died this past Wednesday. She had been in ill health for several weeks, and the end came shortly before 5 o'clock. She had served for many years as secretary of the Lebanon and Cookeville districts in the Women's Missionary Society of the Methodist Episcopal Church South, of which she had been a member since early childhood. At the time of her death she was serving as Conference Superintendent of Supplies. She was a successful businesswoman, having been engaged in mercantile pursuits until shortly before her death.
She was the daughter of Rev. G D Byrne, a superannuate preacher of the Methodist Conference, and is survived by two sisters, Mrs. H H Blue and Mrs. G C Irvine of Monterey; and two brothers, M C Byrne of Memphis and A A Byrne of Nashville.
Funeral services will be conducted by Rev W V Jarratt, presiding Elder of the Cookeville district of the M E Church, South, and by the Rev H H Blue Thursday afternoon.
