PROVO - Dr. Wendell Vance, 68, Provo, died October 5, 1977 in Provo.

Born May 2, 1909, Blackfoot, Idaho to Hyrum S. and Serena Broadbent. Vance. Married Ora Haws, June 28, 1935, Salt Lake LDS Temple.

Graduated BYU, 1934. Graduate, Northwestern University Medical School, 1939. Physician and surgeon in Blue Island, Ill., 1941-1957. Returned to Provo in 1957 where he has been engaged in the practice of medicine up to his death.

Active in civic and community affairs. Active member, LDS Church. Served as District Governor of District 28-A of the Lions Clubs of Utah.

Survivors: wife, Provo; son, five daughters, Lee W. Vance, Quezon City, Philippines; Mrs. Robert E. (Diane) Brush, Pueblo, Colo.; Mrs. Jerry G., (Loya) McDonald, Las Vegas, Nev.; Mrs. Carl V. (Margaret) Larson, Smithfield, Cache County; Mrs. Charles C. (Cynthia) Richards, Provo; Mrs. Stephen M. (Cosette) West, Orem' 18 grandchildren; brother, five sisters, O. Merlin Vance, Mrs. Elma V. Gilchrist, Mrs. Laura Dexter, all Salt Lake City; Mrs. Andrew (Lois) McDonald, Provo; Mrs. Reid (Miriam) Peterson, Concord, Calif.; Mrs. Jack (Norma) Trunnell, Bay Town, Tex.

Funeral services Monday, 11 a.m. Berg Mortuary, Provo. Friends may call at the mortuary Sunday 6-8 p.m. or Monday prior to services. Burial, Provo City Cemetery. Family suggest contributions to the Utah Lions Charity Clinical Van.
