Born 17 Oct 1894 in Keokuk, Helen Lofton was a dau of EliC & Ursula Spangler Betts. A lifelong resident, she was educated in public schools here. On 5 Nov 1913 here she married Leroy Lofton who survives. She was a member of First Christian Church, Elmira Chapter EasternStar & CWF of the First Christian Church. Surviving in addition to her husband are 2 sons: RalphR-NewOrleansLA; & LeRoyE-Keokuk; a dau: ShirleyAnn (MrsET Kane)-Hamilton; 3 sis: MrsLeah Kirkland-PeoriaIL; MrsAlma Babb-ChicagoIL; & MrsAdah Anderson-DecaturIL; 4 grandchildren & a gr grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents & a sis: Miss Grace Betts. The funeral will be held Sun in DeJongs Funeral Home with RevEllsworth Woods officiating & burial in the family lot at Oakland Cem.
