Son of Elias Fincher and Marian West Fincher.

Henry enlisted in Company F, 3rd Confederate Cavalry at Spring Place, Georgia and mustered in as Private on May 16, 1862. He was present or accounted for until he deserted to the enemy on May 4, 1864. He took the oath at Chattanooga, Tennessee on May 19, 1864. He applied for and received a disability pension in Whitfield County in 1889.
