Services will be Friday, Feb 8, 10 a.m., at the 27th Ward 4th Avenue and P St., SLC. Viewing Thursday, Feb 7, 6-8 p.m., Larkin Mortuary, 260 E. So Temple, SLC. Family and friends may visit prior to service Feb 8, 9-10 a.m. at the ward. Burial: Salt Lake City Cemetery.
Gwen was born Oct 11, 1916 in Afton, to George Seward and Martha Emma Weber Kennington. She married James Ernest Ray in Salt Lake City on June 8, 1941. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Los Angeles Temple.
IN 1946 Jim and Gwen moved to Fontana CA and spent 43 happy years together there. In 1998 Gwen moved to Salt Lake to live with her daughter, son-in-law and their family.
Gwem taught school for many years and retired from the Colton Unified School District. Her greatest love was her membership in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church positions but spent most of her time teaching children in Sunday School and Primary. She touched many lives and was an inspiration to us all.
She is survived by her son, Jim and her daughter Jeanne Keddington their children and grandchildren; brothers Garth, Gordon, Eugene, Craig and sister Audine.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, brothers George Winston and Forrest, and sisters Bernice, Clarissa, Beverly, Ruth and Martha.
In lieu of flowers, you may contribute to Primary Children's Hospital, her favorite charity.
