Abraham Walk was the eldest of sixteen known children of Joseph Alexander (went by Alex) Walk (1814-1900) and his first known wife, Mary Olive (went by Olive) Crandall (1821-1891), who married 07 Sep 1837 at Harrison County, Indiana. After Olive died, Abraham remarried to Eliza A. (???-???) in c1891 in Kansas, but had no known additional children.

Abraham married Catherine Pike Faith (1840-1931) on 22 November 1860 at Harrison County, Indiana. Abraham and Catherine were the parents of nine known children, namely:

1. Martha Rebecca Walk Milton (1861-1947)
2. Charles Edwin Walk (1863-1945)
3. Maggie Walk Henderson Groves (1866-1939)
4. Katie Walk Davison (1868-1952)
5. Arthur Lloyd Walk (1872-1956)
6. Lorenzo Dow Walk (1873-1943)
7. William Otto Walk (1875-1954)
8. Jessie J. Walk (1878-1973)
9. Olive May Walk (1883-1983)

The first three children were born at Harrison County, Indiana and the last six at Arcola, Douglas County, Illinois. In 1860 Abraham was living with the Abraham Fleshman family at Washington Township, Harrison County, Indiana. In 1870 the family was living at Arcola Township, Douglas County, , Illinois with the parents and first four children. In 1880 the family was still living at Douglas County, Illinois. In 1889 they moved to Butler or Greenwood County, Kansas and then out to western Kansas in April, 1894 settling in Greeley County, Kansas. In 1900 the family was living at Greeley County, Kansas with the parents and the last two children.
