C.R.Broughton, commonly known as "Fuzzy," a driver for years of local stages and for several months, driver between this city, San Luis Obispo, and Paso Robles for the Pickwick Stages, died this norning at 10 O'Clock at his home in Paso Robles of influenza-pneumonia. An infant daughter died on Saturday morning.
Mrs. Broughton died last Wednesday, leaving a week old babe, Juanita Pearl, which is the only surviving member of his family.
Mrs. Ruby Lee, a sister of Mr. Broughton, is seriously ill in this city of San Luis Obispo.
Another surviving sister of Mr. Broughton is Mrs. Eula Mitchell of San Luis Obispo.
Mr. Broughton was a native of Glendale, Wisconsin, 34 years of age. His parents reside in Los Angeles. They are Charles Edward and Amanda Alla Carpenter Broughton. The mother is now in Paso Robles.
Funeral for Mr. Broughton and Juanita Pearl (his daughter) will be held Wednesday and both will be buried in the same grave.
Charles was born in Glendale, Monroe Co. Wisconsin. When the railroad came through, they decided to build below the hill, so Glendale became known as a Township. Kendall became the village that grew due to the Railroad.Both of his parents are buried there.
