Manoah Barber Schooler was born to Manoah and Sarah Schooler at Caledonis, Iowa, Feb. 20, 1883. He died Dec. 2, 1952 at the age of 69 years, 9 months, and 13 days. On Jan. 20, 1904, he was united in marriage to Mary Olive Wright. To this union five children were born. He was preceded in death by Mrs. Schooler in 1935. Mr. Schooler spent most of his life in Nemaha county, where he engaged in farming and led a very active life. In the year 1945, he went to Osage county where he continued to work until his recent illness. Mr. Schooler was a dependable, hard-working man and a kind and loving father.

He leaves to mourn his five children, Gilbert of Centralia, Virgil of Seneca, Renold of St. Joseph, Mo., Mrs. Betty King of Goff, and Mrs. Mavis Amos of Scranton, Kan., several grandchildren, also one brother, Carl Schooler of Frankfort, two sisters, Mrs. Sadie McGill of Boise, Idaho, and Miss Bessie Schooler of Oneida, several nieces and nephews and a host of friends and neighbors.

Funeral services were held at the Oneida Methodist church at 2 p.m. on Friday, Dec. 5. The Rev. George White of Scranton officiated. Favorite songs were sung by Melvin King, accompanied by Mrs. Emery Campbell. Casket bearers were Claude Anderson, John Leuhold, Jay Bilger, Orville Bell, John Sparling and O.W. Stalder. Burial was in the Oneida Cemetery.
