END COMES TO FORMER CARTHAGE MAN IN LINCOLN, NEBRASKA

Body of International Harvester Company Official to Be Brought Here for Burial

A telegram announcing the death in Lincoln, Nebraska late yesterday, of John Zane, formerly of Carthage, was received by Andrew Zane, this morning.
John Zane was his nephew. The message was brief, telling nothing of the nature of the illness and announcing only that the body would arrive in Carthage over the Frisco tomorrow morning. No funeral arrangements can be made until the body arrives.

John Zane is an old time Carthage boy, who grew to manhood here. for 25 years he ws connected with the International Harvester Company. He started in as a salesnman, and woked his way into high official positions, gaining the pension roll for long and honorable employment with that company.

For four years he was assistant manager of the Kansas City district. At the time of his death he was in charge of the advertising department of the Lincoln, Nebraska branch.

His wife survives him. He had no children.
He has two brothers;
Samuel Zane, a city carrier at the Carthage Post Office and
Frank Zane, who lives 6 miles northeast of Carthage.

His mother, Mrs. Mary Zane , makes her home with Sam Zane in Carthage during the summers,but is now with her daughter, Mrs. Mollie Mentzer, Pawnee, Oklahoma where she spends her winters. They have been notified of the death and are expected here in time for the funeral.
