Margaret Mary 'Grams' (White) Adams

OAKMONT, PA. – Margaret Mary "Grams" (White) Adams, 95, passed away Thursday, Aug. 5, 2010.

She was the beloved wife of 50 years to the late George Warner Adams; loving mother of Harriet Farley of New Mexico, Georgia Frazier of Oakmont, with whom she lived for the last 21 years, Paul (Patti) Adams of Sarasota, Fla. and Pauline Adams Dunsing of Niles; mother-in-law of Genie Natale Adams of Hubbard; sister of Winifred (Ben) Lahna of Coshocton and Bonnie (Dixon) Honabarger of Warsaw. She is also survived by nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren, three of whom were with her on a daily basis, and as she said, "helped to keep her young," Cassandra and Frazier DeTar, and Matthew Frazier; and six great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her son, George P. Adams; grandson Daniel Flick; and loved son-in-law Robert H. Frazier; siblings Bernadine Turner, Agnes Long and Patrick, Leo and Lawrence White.

Mrs. Adams spent her married years in Youngstown, where she was active in her church, St. Columba's and St. Monica's Guild for those years.

She was a welder during World War II and worked in the kitchen at St. Elizabeth hospital in later years. She was known as "Grams" to her granddaughter's friends and enjoyed having them in and out of the house and loved to watch and cheer for the Steelers, Pens and Pirates.

She will be greatly missed by all.

Friends will be received Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. at the English Funeral Home & Cremation Svc., Inc. 378 Maryland Ave., Oakmont, PA 15139.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:30 a.m. at St. Columba Cathedral in Youngstown.

Interment to follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Family Hospice & Palative Care, 50 Moffett St., Pittsburgh, PA 15243.
