Merle Chapman
Services were held at 2 p.m. today in the Foster & Good Funeral Home for Merle M. CHAPMAN, 89, Rt. 5, Rochester, who died at 12:05 p.m. Saturday in Woodlawn Hospital, where he had been a patient six days.
Mr. Chapman was born March 25, 1891 in Argos. He had lived in the Tiosa Community since 1931, moving from Newton County. He was married to Cleo KENOYER, who died Sept. 25, 1925. He later married Ruth WILLIAMS on Aug. 15, 1934. She died March 7, 1965. He was a member of the Tiosa First Brethren Church.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Clara KITSON, Lima, Ohio; three sons, Estil and Darrel [CHAPMAN], both of Brook; and Lewis [CHAPMAN], Mishawaka; eight grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Officiating the services was the Rev. Buell MEADOWS with burial in the Grass Creek Cemetery.

Merble Monroe Chapman married Cleo Kenoyer in Newton County, Indiana, on Nov 30, 1911.
They had three sons:
Estil Otho Chapman, b. Nov 5, 1912;
Lewis Monroe Chapman, b. Sep 9, 1915; and
Darrel Loyd Chapman, b. June 10, 1920.
After Cleo died in 1925, Merble married Ruth Williams in 1934. They had a daughter, Clara Helen Chapman, b. Aug 5, 1935 in Richland, Fulton County, Indiana. Clara married Allan S Kitson and died May 3, 1997.
