Mr. Chapman was born in Newton County and was a life resident of the area. He was a 1933 graduate of Morocco High School. In 1979, he retired from Northway Products where he had been enmployed 14 years.
He was a member of Brook United Methodist Church and Knights of Pythias.
On Dec. 9, 1933, he was married, in Morocco, to Eloise H. Davies, and she survives.
Also surviving are a son, DeWayne Chapman; one daughter, Mrs. Marcia Carlson, both of Brook; two brothers, Darrel Chapman of Brook and Lewis Chapman of Mishawaka; and a sister, Mrs. Clara Helen Kitson of Lima, Ohio.
