Funeral services were held in Steamboat Friday afternoon for Mrs. Walter L. CARVER. Burial was in the Steamboat Springs cemetery. Rev. Justin Van Lopik of the Episcopal church was in charge and the P.E.O. chapters of Steamboat Springs and Craig exemplified their funeral service.
Mrs. CARVER died at her home in Los Angeles April 14 after a long illness. She was for many years a resident of Steamboat and was teaching in the local schools when she was married to Mr. CARVER at her home in West Liberty, Iowa, in 1914.
The CARVERs left Steamboat in 1930 and lived a short time in Green River, Wyoming, before moving to Craig where they lived until 1942 when they moved to California.
Mr. CARVER was too ill to attend the services here. The services were attended by her son Williams and wife, and her daughter, Zona. Also in attendance was a brother, Andrew ANDERSON of Alberta, Canada, who was accompanied by his daughter, Mrs. Charles DUTTON and her daughter, Susan, of Salt Lake City.
Also surviving are two sisters, Mrs. Mabel CONNELY of Canada and Miss Nettie ANDERSON, for many years a teacher in the local schools, and four other brothers, Ed ANDERSON of Canada, and Paul ANDERSON, William ANDERSON and Albert ANDERSON, all of Iowa.
Mrs. Anna CARVER of Steamboat was her mother-in-law and Mrs. H. Clay MONSON of Steamboat, a sister-in-law.
Pallbearers at the service were Ray MONSON, A. M. GOODING, Ralph WREN, M. SHEPHERD, Arthur CAMPBELL and Claude A. LUEKENS.
Mrs. Muriel Bowen, accompanied by Marguerite See, sang "Rock of Ages" and "God Will Take Care of You."
