He was a native and lifelong resident of Palatka. He owned and operated Scientific Draining Cleaning in Palatka. He was a U.S. Marine during the Korean Conflict.
He is survived by two sons, SPC Richard C. Johns, U.S. Army, Redstone Arsenal, Ala., Randolph M. Johns of Palatka; four sisters, Helen Matson of Palm Coast, Lavinia Blackwelder and Pansy Dingley, both of Bardin; Caroline Stone of East Palatka; three brothers, Sidney Johns, William John and Clarence Johns, all of Palatka; and three grandchildren.
The burial is 11 a.m. Thursday at Masters Funeral Home in Palatka with the Rev. E. T. Meyers officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Hill East Cemetery. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd 12 Jul 1994.)
