My Uncle Tillman died in WW2 when his ship, the USS Buck was struck by a torpedo from a German submarine. As the ship was going down he went down to turn off the boilers and went down with the ship. My grandmother received his Purple Heart. I have so much more info and pictures to add to his bio due to research my brother in law and I have been doing but scanner is just not doing right . Tillman was only 22 years old when he died serving in the Navy.
