NAPPANEE. Frank W[arren] Harlan, 49, world war veteran, died Tuesday morning in his home, 251 East Lincoln street, Nappanee, after an illness of eight days of pneumonia. He was a member of battery B, 137th field artillery during the war. He enlisted on Aug. 5, 1917, served overseas and was honorably discharged on Sept. 20, 1918. His marriage to Gertrude Moyer took place in Goshen on Dec. 28, 1920. Surviving are his widow, four children, Alice, George, Devon and Charles, all at home; a brother. L[oren] O[tto] Harlan, Warsaw, and a sister. Miss Lili Harlan, Fort Wayne. The body will lie in state in the home until the hour of the funeral at 2 p. m. Thursday. The service will be conducted by Rev. E. J. Scheuler, of the Nappanee United Brethren church, and burial will be in the Union Center cemetery."
