OBITUARY - News-Journal, North Manchester (IN)
Carl D. Harlan, 84, Liberty Mills, IN died at 5:20 p.m. Saturday, October 30, 2010 in Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw, IN. He was born at Nappanee, Indiana on June 26, 1926 to Warren F. & Gertrude (Moyer) Harlan.

On June 3, 1950 he married Leona G. Runnels; she died November 18, 1999.

Carl was a US Army veteran of World War II, an avid fisherman and enjoyed the outdoors. A Notre Dame football fan, he also enjoyed jigsaw and crossword puzzles. He retired in 1988 from Whitley Manufacturing Co. at South Whitley, IN.

Surviving are three sons, Carl D. Harlan Jr.; Donald E. (Connie) Harlan and Warren E. (Patricia) Harlan, all of North Manchester, IN; brother, Charles Harlan; ister, Alice Jordan, Niles, MI; ten grandchildren, 29 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. One brother is deceased.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 3, 2010 at 12:00 p.m. at McKee Mortuary, 1401 State Road 114 West, North Manchester, IN. Friends and family may call at the mortuary on Tuesday from 6 - 8 p.m. Pastor Greg Bradford will officate and burial will follow at Swank Cemetery, North Manchester. For those who wish to honor the memory of Carl D. Harlan Sr., memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 6100 W. 96th St. Suite 200, Indianapolis, IN 46278-6005.
