ALBANY SOLDIER GAVE HIS LIFE IN LAST BATTLES OF THE WAR
An official message from Adjutant General Harris received this afternoon advised John Black, of Fourth Avenue south, that his son, Private Sam Black had been killed in action in France only a short time before armistice was signed. Private Black was a member of Company E, of the famous Rainbow Division and was one of the bravest soldiers of that crack organization. He was about 21 years of age and volunteered nearly two years ago. His father and two sisters survive.
