Mrs. Katie Caldwell Drew, 77, widow of the late Judge R. C. Drew, and a resident of Minden for the last 56 years, died at 6:15 p. m. Saturday, Dec. 5.
Mrs. Drew was born Oct. 15, 1857, at Plain Dealing. Her father was Thomas J. Caldwell, and her mother, Mrs. Margaret Cochrell from South Carolina. She married the late Judge R. C. Drew, Nov. 6, 1880, at Plain Dealing.
Five sons survive: R. c. Drew, Jr., of Bossier City, Judge H. C. Drew, judge of the court of appeal, T. C. Drew, W. T. Drew and Judge A. S. Drew, all of Minden; one daughter, Mary Drew.
Mrs. Drew was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Minden.
Funeral services were held Sunday at 3 p. m. at the residence, with Rev. W. F. O'Kelley, officiating. Interment was in the Minden cemetery under the direction of the Butler funeral home.
Pallbearers were A. Adger, J. B. Adger, T. J. Caldwell, J. D. Fenet, W. E. Hall, Jim Drew, Arthur Wallace and Roy Brown.
