She was known as Maude until her father married a woman who had a daughter named Maud. From that time on, she went by the name Edith. She was known to the family as "Edo". Edith did not have children but was a favorite and beloved aunt and great aunt to her many nephews, nieces, great nephews and great nieces.

She is buried in an unmarked crypt in the Mausoleum of the Golden West, Sanctuary of Devotion, with her husband.
