Gladys Cosgriff
Forest City - Gladys Bailey Cosgriff, 89, of Forest City, died Thursday (Aug. 17, 1989) at her home of natural causes.
Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Petersen Funeral Home, Forest City, with the Rev. Bryan Engfer and the Rev. Steven Scott officiating. Burial will be at 2:30 p.m. Monday at Evergreen Cemetery, Britt.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
She was born February 3, 1900, in Britt, a daughter of Elbert and Bertha (Anderson) Bailey. She attended Britt schools and graduated from Britt High School in 1918. She later attended Iowa State Teachers College, Cedar Falls, and taught in Britt-area rural schools.
She married Edward Cosgriff. She made her home with her son Paul after his wife died and cared for her two granddaughters. She enjoyed flowers and her family.
Survivors include two daughters, Carol Rasmuson, Britt, and Mrs. James (Catherine) Divine, Corwith; one son, Kenneth Cosgriff, Portsmouth, Va.; and 16 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 11 great great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one son, Paul, and four brothers.

She married Edward Leo Cosgriff in 1921 in Britt, Hancock, Iowa.
