On Sept. 20, 1941, she married Howard M. Walker. They lived in Fort Wayne until 1964, when they moved to a farm in Etna Troy Township at Scott Lake.
Mr. Walker died Jan. 8, 1988.
Her memberships included Emmaus Lutheran Church where she served as a Sunday school teacher for 50 years and Etna Troy Homemakers Club.
Surviving are son, Howard M. (Leona) Walker Jr. of Columbia City; daughter, Karen Ann (John) Bedwell of New Haven; five grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, George R. Winkler of Mount Pleasant and Henry Eugene Winkler of Angola; and two sisters, Marie Ashton and Dorothy E. Ahlersmeyer, both of Fort Wayne.
She was also preceded in death by brother, Albert C.F. "Pete" Winkler.
Funeral service is 1:30 p.m. Monday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Visitation is from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Entombment in Concordia Cemetery. News-Sentinel, The (Fort Wayne, IN) - February 25, 2006
