MINNA "MARIE" WINKLER ASHTON, 87, of Fort Wayne, died Tuesday, May 8, 2007 at her residence. Born Aug. 22, 1919, in Fort Wayne, she was a homemaker and member of Emmaus Lutheran Church and Ladies Aide. She is survived by three sons, Thomas M. Ashton of Gaithersburg, Md., James F. Ashton of Uniondale, and Samuel S. Ashton of Huntertown; one daughter, Suzanne M. Ashton of Fort Wayne; two brothers, George R. Winkler of Mt. Pleasant, S.C. and H. Eugene Winkler of Lake James, Angola; one sister, Dorothy Ahlersmeyer of Fort Wayne; and three grandchildren, Heidi, Holly and Ben. She was preceded in death by her husband, C. Robert Ashton; parents, Henry A. Winkler and Frieda A. (Vegler) ; one brother; and one sister. Service is at 1 p.m. Saturday at Klaehn, Fahl & Melton Funeral Home, Wayne Street Chapel, 420 W. Wayne St., with visitation one hour prior to service. Pastor Albert Keller officiating. Visitation also from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorials to Emmaus Lutheran Church General Fund or Lutheran Worship for Shut-Ins. Burial in Covington Memorial Gardens.
