Fred T Nelson 80 to a lifelong resident of this area died Sunday, June 16 at St. Croix Valley Memorial Hospital.

He was born on March 27, 1903 near Center City to CD and Carrie Nelson and grew up on a farm north of Center City. He lived all of his life on this place of his birth.

He was a lifelong member of the Chicago Lake Lutheran Church. On November 24, 1928 he married Linnea Kallman from Trade River.

He hauled cattle from this area to South St. Paul for over 30 years sometimes making four trips a day until retirement in 1968. Nelson also operated a farm and the Nelson Boat Landing where he and his wife rented boats and cabins on North Center Lake for many years until after his retirement.

He is survived by his wife Linnea, daughter, Mrs. Harriet Olson of Center City, one sister Mrs. Adelia Johnson of Lindstrom two grandsons for great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

Services were held at 2 PM Wednesday, June 19 at the Chicago Lake Church with the Reverend Russell Peterson officiating. Rita Knutson was the organist and burial was in the Hillside Cemetery in Center City.
