Before her birth, the family would grieve the loss of her sibling, Hortence in 1908.
She and her 12 brothers and sisters were educated in the Holy Rosary School at Moxee City. The influence of a Catholic upbringing directed her life, and a month after her graduation in 1934, she entered the postulancy of the Sisters of Providence in Seattle.
There she pledged her perpetual vows in 1939 taking the name, Sister Beatrice Anne. An older sister, Florence (1913-1994) and a younger sister, Yvonne (1917-1988) also vowed to the order, and were called Sister Bernice Marie and Sister Bernard Maria, respectively.
Sister Bernice Anne was more affectionately known as Sister Reda, and that is the name she is known by.
Her obituary is written in the Order's online newsletter, in the 2003 Spring edition of the Caritas (03spring). Use the PDF Search feature and enter: 'reda'.
She died February 1, 2003 and was buried at Calvary Cemetery, Seattle on February 4th, not far from Florence and Yvonne, who preceded her.
