KENNEWICK - Frank Perrault, 89, of Kennewick, Washington, died peacefully on Tuesday, July 8, 2008, in his home surrounded by loving family.
Frank was born in Moxee City, Washington, on July 24, 1918 to Alberic and Salome Perrault. He attended Holy Rosary Grade School, Marquette and St. Martin's high schools. Following graduation, he continued to work on a farm, both for his dad and other relatives. When WWII began, Frank immediately signed up to serve his country in the U.S. Coast Guard. He completed three tours of duty, two in Hawaii and one on submarine watch patrol out of San Francisco, rising to the rank of Chief Petty Officer. In 1946, Frank was honorably discharged from the service.
In addition to his military service, Frank was proud to be a member of the Knight of Columbus for over 70 years.
Frank married Virginia "Ginny" Battye on May 23, 1946. Ginny served her country during the war as a Spar in the U.S. Coast Guard. They met while he was on his second tour of duty in Hawaii. Frank and Ginny raised their family of five children on a hop farm in Outlook, Washington (a sixth child died in infancy). Upon retirement, they moved to their daughter Adele's home in Kennewick where he lived until his death. His beloved wife of 44 years passed away in 1990. Five years later he married Yvonne (Gibbs) Fellows. They were happily married for 12 years until Yvonne's death in 2007. Yvonne had been Ginny's close friend since their high school days.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents and 12 brothers and sisters. He is also preceded in death by his son Joseph. Frank is survived by his sister Veronica and sister-in-laws Val, Jane and June Perrault. He is also survived by sons Bruce (Pauletta), Wayne (Desiree), and Noel (Leann); daughters Michele (Rich) Ahlbrecht and Adele Perrault and step children, Jacqueline (Peter) Hull, Susan Fellows, Lucy Fellows and Armand Paul, Marion (Rich) Patterson, and John Fellows. He has numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
There will be a viewing on Friday, July 11, 2008 at 6:00 p.m. at Parish of the Holy Spirit, with a prayer service and Holy Rosary following at 7:00 p.m. The church is located at 7409 West Clearwater in Kennewick. A funeral Mass will be celebrated there on Saturday, July 12, 2008 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will be at Holy Rosary Cemetery in Moxee City, Washington.
