Grover Cleveland "Sam" Grimmett was the youngest son of John W. and Alice Burt Grimmett. Sam's first wife was Lyda Hickman. She died in 1920, 9 days after giving birth to their son, Sam. Later that year, Sam remarried to Alvern Garner in Union County, Arkansas. Soon afterward, Sam moved his family to Louisiana where he started Sam Grimmett Trucking. Some years later Sam married a third time to Rosa Noble Hatten.
