Janie Fergison-Kunkel, 102, St. Joseph, died Wednesday, July 28, 2010, at a local health care center.
Born October 29, 1907, in Mocassin Bend, Tenn., she resided most of her life in St. Joseph.
Janie was preceded in death by her first husband, Ceacle Clay Fergison in 1966; and her second husband, Harold F. Kunkel in 1974; her parents,Thomas Jefferson and Tennessee (Thomas)Harris ; and her children, Darlene Malarkey, Jack R. , Dean Sr. , and O'Neil Fergison.
She was a Christian. She was a homemaker who loved gardening, flowers, and helping her children and grandchildren. She will be sadly missed by all of her family.
Survivors: her son, Donald Ray Fergison and wife, Norma, St. Joseph; 22 grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren and great-great-great-grandchildren.
Services: 3 p.m. Saturday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory. Interment: Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Meierhoffer Funeral Home & Crematory, where friends may call after 5 p.m. Friday.
The family suggests memorial gifts to the Saxton Riverside or Kendallwood Hospice.
